This Tokyo relocation guide will make you want to move

High-tech families may have opportunities to travel or relocate to Japan. The relocation guide "Tokyo: Here and How" is an indispensable resource.

Traveling in Japan, I have come across a Tokyo relocation guide so good it almost makes me want to move here. Tokyo: Here and How was produced by the Tokyo American Club Women's Group. This brand-new guide solves many of the mysteries confronting a Western family who is moving to Japan. From culture, to schools, to obtaining medical care, the guide leads families through each step of the process. As a visitor I found it an intriguing read. As a transplant it would be an indispensable 350-page resource.

I had the pleasure of spending the day with one of the project directors, Betsy Wiedenmayer Rogers, who is an Asia expert and expat American who has been living in Japan for six years.

We talked publishing as she gave us a tour of an old neighborhood and a kimono wholesaler. Tokyo: Here and How has made it into its second printing and is available directly from the Tokyo American Club. They are looking into wider distribution options now that the book has come out of the gates with a lot of interest. A Paypal option is coming soon. In any case, if you need this information, it is well worth the effort to secure a copy to get access to this treasure trove of collected wisdom.
