Short Take: Emachines boosts performance across line
Low-cost PC maker Emachines has upgraded its retail computer line. The company's eTower line will feature Celeron processors in the 500-566 Mhz range and cost between $399 and $699, depending on the configuratoin. The company will also offer the higher end eMonster for $899 with a 600 Mhz pentium III, DVD-ROM and a 20 MB hard drive. The eSlate, a laptop, will price at $999 and come with an AMD K6-2 450 Mhz processor.
