Even though fans must wait more than a year for new episodes of "Sherlock," they can relive the past with a special edition 2-disc set of the third season in the UK -- and a 14-disc set of all three seasons.
The Special Edition of "Sherlock" Series 3, set for release on November 3 for £15 in the UK, includes bonus material from the already-released Series 3 discs but also includes not-previously-released outtakes from Series 2 and 3, four documentaries, a mini-episode, and a previously unreleased, deleted scene from Series 3. The special-edition set also includes new audio commentaries from Steven Moffat, Sue Vertue, Mark Gatiss, and Una Stubbs.
For collectors, the "Sherlock" Limited Edition Gift Set will be released on November 4, including for the US. The gift set includes each episode from all three seasons -- available in both Blu-ray and DVD formats -- along with the original bonus features released with each season. The set also offers new commentaries and not-previously-seen outtakes.
Exclusive collectible busts of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson, as well as limited-edition collectible art cards of Sherlock and Watson, round out the set, which sells for $179.98.
