Samsung wants to show size matters
If flat monitors continue to grow like they're on steroids, we may all need more office space.
The latest entry trying to prove that size matters is Samsung, which just announced a new 30-inch LCD screen to be available in November for the holiday shopping season. The company is touting the monitor's 2560-by-1600 resolution for professional uses, such as engineering and graphic design.
That's probably a wise move, considering that its $2,000 price tag will put it out of reach for many consumers. And others are offering similar products at lower prices: As of this posting, for example, Dell is offering a 30-inch screen with the same resolution for $1,444.
