Report: HP hires more lawyers
Hewlett-Packard has retained another outside law firm to meet with federal prosecutors, legal newspaper The Recorder said on Wednesday.
HP's boardroom drama
HP reportedly has tapped Morgan, Lewis & Bockius to represent the company in its dealings with federal prosecutors. The U.S. Attorney's office in San Francisco has said it is investigating the methods used in a probe HP conducted into media leaks.
According to The Recorder, the two sides met on Monday, with HP making a "proffer," that is an offer to talk about certain matters under certain conditions. An HP representative declined to comment.
HP has said it will cooperate with the federal investigation as well as a separate criminal probe by the California attorney general and an inquiry by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
