"Fuwa Huanhan" adorns a new handset, only for the Chinese market.
Samsung isn't the only company that's making phones to commemorate the Beijing Olympics, gold or otherwise. China's Cect has come up with a handset targeted at kids, though we suspect that adults will be interested in it too once the souvenir market heats up.
The phone resembles a Nokia model, as noted by Newlaunches, save for one distinctive feature: Above its 1.5-inch LCD screen is a likeness of Fuwa Huanhuan, an official mascot of the 2008 games. In addition to its media player and 1.3-megapixel camera, the handset bears the Olympic rings on the back and comes loaded with related ring tones, videos, wallpaper and other special stuff.
It's destined only for the Chinese market for now at an unknown price--much to the chagrin, undoubtedly, of cuteness-obsessed Japanese consumers.
