Life-size Stormtrooper intimidates other Star Wars action figures

You're going to need a bigger display shelf. Hot Toys' life-size "Force Awakens" Stormtrooper figure is a monster of a collectible.

We can't all be Darth Vader or Kylo Ren, able to call upon an army of white-armor-clad soldiers in anonymous helmets to do our every Dark Side bidding. Perhaps the closest you'll ever get to marshalling your own personal 501st is to order an entire battalion of life-size Stormtrooper figures from Hot Toys and Sideshow.

You might need to sell off your Millennium Falcon in order to afford your new army. Each trooper is more than 6 feet tall (1.8 meters) and costs $8,000 (about £5,560, AU$10,425). Sideshow notes the figure is "movie-accurate and realistic" as well as "meticulously sculpted."

The First Order Stormtrooper comes with a blaster rifle in hand and would make for an imposing presence in your living room. It just screams "Don't mess with me, Jedi!" Even though we know Stormtroopers have terrible aim and a tendency to hit their heads on doorways.

Photos of a prototype of the figure show an obsessively detailed product. The vents, curves and shaded stare are all intact. It's standing in a semi-sassy stance with the blaster pointed down so you won't feel too nervous in its presence.

This eye-catching Star Wars figure will appeal to high-end collectors. For that price tag, you could put together a really nice set of custom Stormtrooper armor and then just stand and stare at yourself in a full-length mirror.

The Stormtrooper is expected to start shipping in the second half of 2016. It will go great with your life-size Darth Vader, life-size Han Solo in carbonite and life-size Slimer from "Ghostbusters" (Hey, why not?).
