LG voice-activated vacuum robot does your cleaning bidding
LG's new Roboking wants to apply for a job as your cleaning minion, and it's happy to be bossed around.
We all know what Roombas are good for. They're good for ferrying cats around, dressing up in silly costumes, and occasionally sucking up dirt. One thing they're not good for, however, is bossing around. For that, you'll need the new Roboking vacuuming robot, which LG announced for the Korean market.
The new Roboking pretty much looks like its predecessors, but it's got more going on under the hood. It takes voice commands and can recognize which direction a person's voice is coming from. That means you could stand at the site of a particularly heinous dirt pile and call it over to come clean it up.
If just talking to your robot vacuum minion isn't enough, it also has a feature that puts it on pause when you clap twice. Yep, that's pretty much just like a Clapper. You'll be able to amaze your friends and impress your neighbors.
The new Robokings can handle up to 100 minutes of cleaning on a charge, and they keep the noise down to only 48 decibels. That's pretty quiet for a vacuum. These suckers will sell for about $735. I imagine this is a lot more useful than the broken Roomba I have in my closet. I've called it all sorts of names and it hasn't responded even once.
