How to share Dropbox folders with your Facebook friends

Dropbox has enabled the capability to share a folder with a Facebook friend. It's really easy to set up and use.

Dropbox is a great way to share files and folders with co-workers, as well as friends and family. Sometimes, though, you may not be sure what e-mail address to use when inviting someone to a shared folder.

To share a Dropbox folder with a Facebook friend, log in to your Dropbox Web site. Next you will need to select or create the folder you wish to share.

You will notice that if you haven't already linked your Facebook account with Dropbox, then a link will appear above the name field. Click on the link and follow the prompts to connect Facebook and Dropbox.

After the two accounts are linked, once you begin typing a name you will see both e-mail address contacts as well as your Facebook contacts. Select the individual you want to share the folder with and send the invite on its way.

The recipient will then receive a Facebook message alerting them to your invitation, at which point they can either log in to an existing Dropbox account, or sign up for one and accept your invitation.

Facebook integration is a nice addition for Dropbox and fits in well with the redesign it recently released. If you are curious what changes were made, and how they work, check out Ed Rhee's post.
