Enjoy those Combat Evolved vibes.

You may not have been expecting a wave of nostalgia for Halo: Combat Evolved, but Microsoft on Wednesday surprised gamers with some fresh Halo Infinite art that harkened back to the 2001 game. The upcoming sequel will be released on the company's Xbox Series X and Xbox One, along with a PC version.

Halo Infinite is the eighth game in the mainline series, and the first since 2015's Halo 5: Guardians. It was revealed during Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference.

The art reveal comes a day before Microsoft's Xbox Series X games showcase, which will include gameplay from Halo Infinite's campaign.

If the art reveal has given you a hankering to play the 2001 original, the enhanced anniversary edition is available on the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and PC.
