Episode 22: Kids vs. the iPod Touch

This week on Always On, I unbox a slew of Apple products (plus the Slingbox 500), and I sic four toddlers on a pair of unsuspecting iPod Touches. Chaos ensues.

Watch this: Episode 22: Kids vs. the iPod Touch

You asked, we answered. It turns out that the iPod Touch is the product a surprising number of you wanted to see unboxed and tortured on our show -- so here you go! In addition to the regular gauntlet of tests, it seemed pretty obvious that the Wild Card for the iPod Touch pretty much had to involve children. So we rounded up four kids, ages 2 to 5, and gave them pizza, chips, candy, fruit, and juice, and let them go crazy with the iPods. Let me be honest: I could watch this video all day long, and not just because my kid is one of the test subjects.

In our holiday-season unboxing extravaganza this week, it's an Apple kind of episode. I opened up the MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display, which, spoiler alert, I think is shamefully overpriced compared with a standard MacBook Pro. And there's also the oft-overlooked Mac Mini, which is a powerful little package that's great for anyone looking for a home theater machine, a compact Mac that still includes actual ports (FireWire 800 FTW!), and comes with the option to include Apple's new Fusion hybrid hard drive system.

And in non-Apple products, I opened up the Slingbox 500, the handy little TV sharing box that now finally gets 1080p streaming, plus built-in WiFi and HDMI. Too bad you can't ever stack anything on top of it. Cue rant in 3...2...1...
