Look out world, here comes the Tardis! BBC Worldwide

Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi and his onscreen companion Clara Oswald (played by Jenna Coleman) will visit seven cities across five continents in 12 days to promote the upcoming season of "Doctor Who" to fans and media.

Doctor Who: The World Tour -- organized by BBC Worldwide -- marks the largest ever promotional undertaking in Doctor Who's 50-year history and will kick off in Cardiff, Wales on August 7, before heading to London (UK), Seoul (South Korea), Sydney (Australia), New York (US), and Mexico City (Mexico), and ending in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on August 19.

"It's fantastic that so many people across the world love Doctor Who," Capaldi said in a statement. "After eight months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans."

This will be the first time Capaldi and Coleman will appear together in the US when they arrive in New York. The show's lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat will also be joining the duo on part of their tour. His schedule will be confirmed soon.

"I've always thought we'd all be a lot safer if the Doctor conquered the world, instead of the Daleks," Moffat added in a statement. "Now with Jenna and Peter leading the charge, it looks like it's going to happen. I'll be bringing up the rear to handle the exposition scenes, and maybe carry some bags."

Information on how fans can join the Doctor on his fun will be available at: www.doctorwho.tv/worldtour

Don't forget to print out a pair of creepy Capaldeyes if you plan on attending the tour!

"Doctor Who" season 8 will premiere in August on BBC One in the UK, on BBC America in the US, and on ABC in Australia.
