If enough people “”like”" this, maybe Lucas will be convinced to get over himself and give us the “”Han Shot First”" original trilogy on Blu-ray.

Hey Buzz Crew!
I was “”Googling”" Qwikster today and I think it already shows how much Qwikster is going to suck when Jason Castillo’s Twitter (twitter.com/qwikster) Account is higher up on the search list than the actual Qwikster site is! WHAT IS NETFLIX THINKING?!?!
Love the show guys!

I haven’t heard anyone give a good defense of Netflix on the show yet, but I thought I’d try.
You guys admitted yourself that the DVD business is going to die eventually, and I think it’s really hard for a company to ever live their original and main product line down once it’s outdated. If Netflix continues offering DVDs, they will always be “”that company that sends DVDs in the mail.”" The only way to differentiate themselves and make sure they are known for being an innovative company that isn’t stuck in the past is by cutting off the piece of their business that is on deathwatch. The DVD portion is still a great product for the time being, but I think Netflix wants to be seen as an innovator, not an online Blockbuster.
I actually think this move is pretty genius – although ultimately its genius might not outweigh the poor reaction from customers. But think about it – they move to streaming in preparation for delivering their own content to compete directly with the traditional studios. As more places online do this, more people will cut the cable and move online for their new content. The cable content will become marginalized and Netflix can pick it up in a few years at a discount. Cable and Network TV is on deathwatch, Netflix, Google, and maybe even Amazon will be picking up the torch. All Netflix needs is a few good original shows (imagine if they had an exclusive on Arrested Development season 4!).
Anyway – I think that is the direction Netflix is going, and as long as they’re renting DVDs that’s what they’ll be known for. Every outdated company is destined to fail unless they can reinvent themselves.

Hey Buzz Crew,
I've done 2 things for a really long time: 1) Listened to BOL from the very beginning! Molly, Tom, Veronica... and 2) rented from Netflix since September 2001!
Now I'm not totally comparing the two but I am sad my BOL is only once a week now. I'm a 50-something-senior-executive-type-gal who has managed to stay somewhat tech savvy by listening to BOL all these years. I'm gonna miss my daily dose but UNLIKE Netflix's recent decisions, moving away from a daily podcast makes reasonable business sense to me. You "kids" are doing great! and creating so many opportunities for yourselves and CNET - I can imagine the time commitment has become a bit much.
Netflix on the other hand - Holy Shit, WTF! I've loved them from the beginning and relied on them in living a rural lifestyle where I finally got DSL 2-years ago and still can't get a pizza delivered. Not sure what other options will work best for me but I'm HATING me some Netflix, Qwikster, whatever the hell.
Love the show, hanging with the Buzz crew no matter what.

You guys should be proud - you have the best podcast on the nets. I listen to about 12 hours of podcasts a day and you are really the best. showmance - personality - knowledge - emotion - spontaneity - history.
The buy in to your show is over the top. I am mesmerized by the two way energy you have tapped into between your audience and your content.
Others try what you do naturally.
You did not save my life but you certainly made it better.
Keep them coming.
I’ve been mulling over what to do with the extra hour or so I’ll gain each day once BOL goes to the once weekly format. I’m pleased to announce that I’ve signed up at the Santa Monica Chard Culinary Institute and have planted a patch of chard in the local community garden. Once I master frying lettuce, I plan to launch the Rainbow Chard Food Truck! Look for it in an alley near you!
Good luck guys!

Hey Buzz crew
like everyone else it kills me inside to see the show go weekly.
i’m kind of a musical guy so i composed this short piano dirge to say goodbye to Buzz Out Loud…
I play a few instruments but not the piano; i composed this and had a program create the audio, i hope you can still feel the emotion come through. i’d love for you guys to play it on the show tomorrow, perhaps at the end?
thanks, love the show!!
