Ring Video Doorbell Wired with Echo Pop
Amazon/CNET

As well as announcing the Prime Day dates for 2023, Amazon has kicked off a bunch of early Prime Day sales to get things going weeks ahead of the event itself. One such early offer includes the first deal on the recently released Echo Pop smart speaker. Right now, Prime members can nab one with a wired Ring video doorbell for just $40. That's the regular price of the speaker alone, so you're effectively getting the video doorbell (usually $65) thrown in for free.

Released at the end of last month, the Echo Pop is designed for small rooms but has a front-firing, 1.95-inch speaker that's a little bigger than the one found in the Echo Dot. The Pop features Amazon's AZ2 Neural Edge processor, which Amazon says is 20% faster, and can be used as a Wi-Fi extender with Eero routers. It makes an ideal partner for a video doorbell, offering chime functionality and two-way audio when somebody's at the door.

The Ring Video Doorbell Wired included in the bundle is one of our favorite cheap video doorbells, offering all of the basics like live streaming, night vision, two-way talk and motion alerts. If you don't need the Echo Pop, you can get the doorbell alone for a reduced price of $35 right now, though for the sake of an extra $5 you may as well get another Alexa speaker for your smart home.
