The PlayStation phone
It's only natural that Sony Ericsson would show up at the 2011 Game Developers Conference given that just two weeks earlier the company had introduced its Xperia Play at Mobile World Congress.
Though we got the opportunity to check out the Xperia Play while in Barcelona, Spain, we swung by Sony Ericsson's event in San Francisco to give the handset another go. This time we concentrated on its gaming and media features. The first seven photos show you how different games look on the Xperia Play's rich display.
Asphalt 6
Ridge Racer
Air Attack HD
FIFA 10
Dungeon Defender
Galaxy on Fire 2
Guns N' Glory
The controls
On this screen you get the full details on the Xperia Play's controls.
In the media player (it's no longer called Mediascape), you get intuitive controls and album art. The player will show in landscape mode.
The Xperia Player also can play a selection of videos.
All media will be stored in the media gallery menu. Thanks to the accelerometer, the screen shots will wiggle as you tip the phone.
