Xbox 360 Media Briefing at E3 2010
^M00:00:01[ Music ] ^M00:00:05>> Brian Tong here with cnet.com at the end of Microsoft's press conference here at E3 2010 and there's a lot of good news, where do I start? Well, first of all there's an all new Xbox. >> Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your new Xbox 360. ^M00:00:19 [ Applause ] ^M00:00:20 >> This is a sleeker and slimmer design, it's a kind of shiny piano finish black and it also comes packed with 250 gig hard drive and Wi-Fi and built in and it will be ready for Kinect. Now Kinect was predominately featured here as well, it'll be launching on November 4th in North America and it will go worldwide and it also have no price yet, so we're waiting on that, but it will showcase how advance this technology is. It has a 3D sensor so it can detect depth and where your body is. It also has a multi ray microphone set up so it can detect a voice and it was used to showcase a lot of different voice commands. Xbox, play music. ^M00:00:54 [ Music ] ^M00:00:59 The built in camera will also be able to take photos of you playing and there's a motorized tilt that will track you while you move, they showed an example of this in video chat. >> Wow, hey that's pretty cool. >> To really showcase this in action that had a bunch of launch titles that will be ready; the first one was Kinectimals. ^M00:01:16 [ Background noise ] ^M00:01:26 And a really crazy thing about Kinect is how you use it to navigate the interface of the Xbox live menus, they showed how you could use your hand, but the really the most impressive thing was while they were showcasing the movie you can talk to tell the movie to play, stop, and start. >> Xbox, pause. Now that's pretty slick, right. ^M00:01:42 [ Applause ] ^M00:01:46 Xbox, play. >> That was something that really just blew me away because we have never seen anything like that, so again there's no pricing on Kinect yet but it will be available November 4th in North American for the holiday season. None of their partnership we saw that got everyone excited is ESPN is now coming to Xbox live, they've had a lot partnerships with media content as well as social networking, but now you have access to over thirty five hundred sporting events, live and on demand. And yes, we can use Kinect to control that as well. >> Xbox...join USC. Kinects on Xbox 360 allows me to get into the game without ever obviously needing a controller. >> Another Kinect title was Kinect Adventures, it's kind of like an Indiana Jones setting where you could jump into a raft with a friend and even fly on clouds. ^M00:02:33 [ Background noise ] ^M00:02:40 And for all of you want to be dancers out there, they're also working with other developers, like Harmonics who's created Rockband, this time for Kinect they're creating Dance Central so you can shake your groove thing with a little hip hop beat. ^M00:02:51 [ Music ] ^M00:02:56 They also showed off Uvie Soft's [phonetic] Your Shape [inaudible] and the fact that you had a huge auditorium of guys cheering after that game means that it was impressive. Now for all those hardcore traditional gamers, we've got a little fix they showcase a preview of the first game play of Gears of War 3. ^M00:03:13 [ Background noise ] ^M00:03:23 Also a trailer of Metal Gear Solid: Rising where you can slice and dice whatever you want. And also a preview of some of the over the top action with Call of Duty: Black Opts, they've also announced that Activision and Xbox will have exclusive downloadable content first for the next three years. ^M00:03:43 [ Background noise ] ^M00:03:47 So the big news, there's a new Xbox it's shipping today and will be available in stores sometime later this week, Kinect is here coming out November 4th. For cnet.com, I'm Brian Tong here at E3 2010. ^M00:03:58 [ Music ] ^M00:04:06
