The screen size is perhaps a tad small, and the keyboard left us feeling flat, but the Android 2.3 Gingerbread slider is a welcome expansion of Cricket's Android army.
-Hello, I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET.com here in CTIA in San Diego. Here, I've go the Samsung Tansfixed for Cricket. This is a new phone that was just announced and it is an android 2.3 gingerbread phone and it's got a slide out QWERTY keyboard. So, the screen is 3.2 inches, which is actually a little bit small. I wish it was 3.5 inches. It's a little bit bigger to give you some more room, so it's pinched. It's got a 3.2-megapixel camera on the back and camcorder of course, and then taking a look at this keyboard, it's pretty roomy and spacious, which is nice, but for me, the keys are really flat and that just not comfortable. So, of course, I didn't have a ton of time with the phone yet, but in my test when did type some things out, I already wish that the keyboard keys were a little it more raised and that was a little bit more tactile. The Tansfixed is running on an 800 megahertz processor. Inside, you've got all of the usual Google apps plus a lot of cricket apps for managing your account and things like that. Now, the Transfixed costs $179.99 and that's without a contract. I'm Jessica Dolcourt. This is the Samsung Tansfixed for Cricket.
