3:51 /

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer and Kirk Koenigsbauer show off the new Office for consumers and businesses, with redesigned apps including OneNote, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, and Excel. The cloud-based software will be available for tablets, smartphones, and desktop devices.

It feels awful lot like 1995. We have the most vibrant exciting new version of windows in years. We complement it with the most vibrant exciting. New release of office in years. I've got -- up and running here the first thing you'll notice it's a very sleek and very clean. Beautiful user experience I can use my fingers to navigate -- -- on this touch based device like it's gonna hand tap. And go through my different slides that are here. Maybe I'll drop into the -- sort remote. I can do things as you expect like pinch and zoom. -- him out American zoom into my presentations. Let me give me a look at what -- one note application. Look like. If I -- -- enter content there's a bunch of different ways to do that of course I can use mouse and keyboard -- but we also course -- able -- -- And stylus so I can go ahead and write anywhere I want to over my notes if I say hey you know this 930 is Ronald is -- that out. So let's get together -- 10 o'clock. In -- -- terrible here. -- -- I can circle things that I think are important -- -- -- -- -- on the map itself if we want -- -- down here -- particular -- -- do those sorts of things. You get the idea. Not like the rest of the office applications. SharePoint has a new user interface -- well. Much cleaner simpler. A design that's easy and intuitive for people to get access to the tools they need. Now we SharePoint in social you can follow you can keep track of anything all kinds of different content. Over on the right here you can see the listing of the people -- following the documents on following the sights on following attacks on following. I can go ahead and just click. And going to all the documents and see the ones I'm looking at. SharePoint will also suggests documents that I should be following based on the documents themselves and the things that I've followed. In the past. I wanna see and experience in excel one of the ways that we're trying to make every user in excel power users. The -- wanna go through here is a relatively common one for people that are taking content from the web and wanting to do some analysis on it. And this is a spreadsheet. It's got content that in this middle column here this bee colony can see all the fields are concatenated together this is something that happens copy from the browser and you put it into something like excel. It's not quite in the right format that you may want it to be. We have a new feature. In excel that can help break apart that content you can go into analysis on now historically people would literally -- -- -- content. Or if they were more -- -- -- -- macros to go ahead do that I want to see with a new feature called flash -- how simple can be in the new itself. I'm gonna go and pull out of steel but they -- I want to pull up the names of people are just a -- John. -- -- -- -- And watch as I hit enter that'll fill that entire column all the way down and out with with that name. Sixty more time here I'll take an advertising -- pick a different word. And then events. And again -- that all the way down and noticed it sells pretty Smart here it gets that digital marketing key words it it smartly pulls that out into the right column. Now for the last demo I want to touch on a one final experience I but I think it's particularly exciting. As we think about windows eight as we think about a new class of devices and office. I wanna go ahead and join a meeting. That's in progress on that link meeting -- here. -- go and start that. And this is going to start and high definition. Multi party video conference just in one click. Here -- -- -- you there. -- there are you hurt bright sound great on the go ahead start my video. Now let's say we got this video started -- -- -- -- somebody. Let's go down list here and we'll go ahead and had -- I can just drag and drop -- with my finger -- all it takes. And I can go I had in at -- to -- -- social pop open -- with quick -- there.
