First Look: Huawei M750 (MetroPCS)

1:38 /

If you can live with the phone's basic features, the M750 is a decent starter touch-screen handset for MetroPCS.

>> I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for cnet.com and this is a First Look at the Huawei M750 from Metro PCS. As you can see here this is a very simple touch screen phone; on the front here of course is a nice 2.8 inch color display, very nice and colorful. Underneath that you do get the navigation controls. You don't need to use these keys because you can get by with just the touch screen but it's good to have anyway. On the bottom row of the phone's home screen you get shortcuts to the phone dialer, the web browser, the Metro PCS web store as well as the screen lock key. The touch interface is pretty responsive and accurate but we found it a little bit easier to use the stylus instead of our fingers. The phone dialer is easy to use and has nice big numbers with the number keypad. As for text messaging there is a QWERTY keyboard but you can only use it in portrait mode as the Huawei M750 does not have an internal accelerometer. Features of the phone include the regular text and multimedia messaging, there's also e-mail and instant messaging. You get Bluetooth as well as a music player and the aforementioned 1.3 megapixel camera. However you won't get a camcorder; there's also no HTML web browser which is a little bit surprising. You only get a very simple wrap browser. The Huawei M750 is available for $160 but that's without a contract. I'm Nicole Lee and this has been a First Look at the Huawei M750.
