Google goes big with Nexus 6 and Nexus 9

Services & Software
[MUSIC] What's up? Brian Kong here, and welcome to Googleicious for all the Google that we can pack inside of a show. Now, the Google's recently released our Nexus line up for the holiday season, with the Go Big or Go Home Nexus family. Now the Nexus six is finally official, designed by Motorola and bringing a gorgeous 5.96 inch display, with a reported 24 hours of talk time on a full charge, that's legit. Dual front speakers and a quick charge feature that gives you six hours of juice in just 15 minutes and running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Pricing starts at $649 for the 32GB model and preorders start on Wednesday, October the 29th. Now for tablets, the Nexus 9 brings an 8.9 inch screen, and the first tablet to run Lollipop. Starting at 399 for the 16G model, it's designed by HTC. It also brings front-facing speakers, three colors, and there's also a magnetically attached keyboard option. Pricing starts at 399 for 16G and 599 for the 32G with LTE. And really the surprise of the bunch, the Googs announced their new Nexus Player. It's their new $99 streaming set top box with a remote that includes a mike for voice recognition and apps for your favorite video services like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and more. There's also a game pad option for 39 more bucks. But in addition to the Chromecast, Google is now really trying to develop a presence in the living room. With the recent HBO and CBS announcements that they'll offer their programming content, bypassing cable operators with an online ala carte option, it's two [UNKNOWN] steps toward content companies finally giving us. Individual online options, and the living room is really about to change in 2015. Now speaking of the Chromecast, That's Not Funny reports a new Chromecast dongle number H2G242 recently hit the FCC and it's a strong sign that something is in the works in the near future. It will still bring 80211n, but there's no known release date yet. And developers, the official Android 5.0 Lollipop SDK is now available to download, and the company is urging devs to take advantage of all the new material design aesthetics and new APIs, with the launch of Lollipop in a few more weeks. And you know you want to. [MUSIC] Just like that. Now earlier devices like the Nexus seven and ten will reportedly get the lollipop action on November the third with the Nexus four and five getting the update sometime after that. And in one more Google story the G men and women [MUSIC] Have launched .soy, a web domain extension for Latinos. So for all of you who didn't take spanish one with Senora Morris at Monta Vista High School, soy means I am in Espanol. So you can now search for new .soy domain names and purchase them from a list of partners. It's not restricted to just Latinos and I've already claimed. Yosoychino.soy. Look it up. All right, that's gonna do it for this week. You can always email us at googlicious@cnet.com. Or tweet me @briantong. Thanks so much for watchin'. And we'll see you next time for some more of That Googlicious. [MUSIC] Googlicious.
