Elon Musk scraps SpaceX, Tesla pages on Facebook
Looking for Space X or Tesla on Facebook?
Don't bother.
When asked on Twitter to delete the official Facebook page for Space X in light of the social platform's Cambridge Analytica scandal, Musk replied, "I didn't realize there was one.
Will do." It didn't long for Musk to make good on his promise and not only was the Space X page removed from Facebook Elon also took Tesla's official page offline.
The deletions are a massive coup for the delete Facebook movement, which has been gaining popularity since the Cambridge Analytica scandal hit the news wires
[MUSIC]
The page has had over 2.6 million likes and follows combined so it wasn't a small gesture on Musk's part to delete the pages.
The companies aren't totally removed from Facebook grasps through, when asked about the space X and Tesla instagram pages Musk's said quote, Instagram's probably ok imo, so long as it stays fairly independent.
I don't use Facebook and never have.
So don't think I'm some kind of martyr or my companies are taking a huge blow.
Also, we don't advertise or pay for endorsements, so don't care, unquote.
Do you think this was a good move or a rash decision?
Leave your thoughts down in the comments.
We'll be keeping tabs on other companies joining the Delete Facebook Movement on cnet.com.
I'm Ashley Esqueda, be good humans.
