First Look: Dell Inspiron I530S-119B1:47 /
In its present configuration, the Dell Inspiron I530S-119B won't feel at home in a home theater or digital media environment, but it succeeds in providing high performance at minimal cost thanks to a faster processor than the competition.
>> Justin: Hey it's Justin Yu and this is the Dell I530119B Desktop computer, it's one of three recently released Best Buy desktops in the ultra-budget category. Now you can find it for around 500 bucks and it's a refresh of Dell's S line of Slim Tower PC's designed to improve performance at a minimal cost. Now let's take a quick look at the features. So when I say Slim Tower I mean the chassis is small for a reason it's meant to save space on your desk or other tight places. On the front you'll find a dual layer DVD burner as well as an extra slot for an expansion drive, there's also a couple USB ports down below but we have to give it one demerit for not featuring a front-loading multi-media card reader. Now the back gives you a few more USB ports but lacks HDMI and eSATA port two things you can find in a similar system the Acer Aspire X1700. Now the hard drive on this Dell is also smaller than the Acer's at a paltry 500 GB. Now fortunately what Dell lacks in hard drive capacity it makes up for in processor speed. In our performance test it reigns champion over all four other systems thanks to a speedy 2.5 GH Intel Pentium Dual Core processor. Now it's got the highest clock speed out of the competition as well which helps it pull away from the crowd most substantially in the Photo Shop and CINABENCH benchmarks. In the end neither the Dell I530 nor the Acer X1700 are gonna satisfy the needs of hardcore photo editors but if you're a light-weight photo enthusiasts or a light media editor this Dell definitely won't disappoint. On the other hand if you're more concerned with features like high-def video, easy access photo transfers or more external storage you'll probably prefer the Acer X1700. So I'm Justin Yu and this is the Dell I530119B Desktop computer. ^E00:01:46
