>> It's hard to stress how important it is to back up your
computer on a regular basis. However, backing up can also be
intimidating for home users, especially when there are multiple
computers that are networked together. So, hello intimidated
home users, my name is Dong Ngo and I have some good news: The
Clickfree C2N Backup Drive. Now in a nut shell, this is just a
portable hard drive and works just like one. It supports USB,
and has a cable on the back here, and works both as data and
power connection. This cable can be tucked away completely into
this groove here; a very nice design. On the bottom of the
drive you're going to find another USB port that works with the
drivers including this good-looking docking station. This dock
has a Y-shaped USB cable that has two separate connectors. This
is for using in case the single USB port on the computer cannot
provide enough juice to power the drive. You then can use a
second connector to draw more power from the second USB port.
What's special about the C2N is the click free backup software
it comes with. The software launches itself each time you
connect the drive into a computer. The first time you do this
to a computer, two things could happen: First, the software
will attempt to categorize and backup all of your important
data, such as documents, e-mail, photos and so on. You can just
accept, as the default settings would tend to backup more than
you need and the backing up would carry on by itself, or you can
fully customize what and when you want to backup. The second
thing is the drive will also install the backup link utility on
the computer. This utility allows the computer to be recognized
by the backup hard drive even when it is plugged into another
computer in the network. This means from one computer the C2N
can perform backups on all computers in the network that have
the backup link utility installed. From then on you can backup
all computers in the network simply by plugging in the backup
drive into one of them and let the Clickfree Backup Software
take care of the job. There is nothing else you have to do. At
around $150 for the 500-gigabyte version the C2N is just a bit
more expensive than a regular portable hard drive; however, this
extra cost is totally worth it considering the benefits. The
C2N is by far the most simple and effective backup solution for
home users. For more information on the product check out the
in depth review on CNET.com. [Background Music] My name is Dong
Ngo and this has been the first look at the Clickfree C2N Backup
Drive. ^M00:02:25 [ Music ] ^M00:02:28
