>> Hi, I'm Donald Bell, senior editor for MP3 and Digital Audio. And today we're taking a first look at the Arcos 405 portable video player. The 405 has a LCD screen that is 3 point 5 inches and displays at a maximum resolution of 480 by 272. It is a more portable, light weight, though smaller version of their 605 WIFI player which is really the, their, their biggest best model. The 405 is stripped down. It also has a stripped down price of 169 dollars. The 405 comes in only one capacity which is two gigabytes. The upside to that is that it comes with an SD card slot that can support up to 16 gigabytes of flash memory. Compared to the 605 WIFI, the 405 does away with the ability to use a touch screen interface. You can only use the buttons on the side. It also does away with the ability to browse the Internet over WIFI or use the Arcos content portal for renting and downloading movies and music. Using it with the 99 dollar DVR station, you have the ability to connect this to your television so you can play movies back to your television. You also have the ability to use the advanced digital video recording feature in here to have a Tivoisk ability to record any kind of content that's coming from your cable or satellite receiver and be able to take that on the go with you. Another cool feature of the DVR station accessory is that it comes with a cool remote. So you can use the remote for cueing up your video files, browsing your music collection all on your television. The 605 is going to be a great alternative for people looking for less expensive video player. And who aren't thrilled with the 605's ability to get online or do advanced WIFI connectivity features. It's more compact. The down side is that it doesn't use a touch screen, so it's a little more difficult to control. It doesn't have a built in kick stand so you're going to have to prop this up in your hand or buy the optional battery pack that can work as a kick stand as well. On the whole, for 169 dollars, this is a hell of a portable video players. It's a great screen, excellent viewing angles, great sound quality, we like it a lot. So I'm Donald Bell and this is a first look at the Arcos 405 portable video player.
