Amazon unveils a slew of Alexa gadgets for the smart home

The fabric base comes in multiple colors and it has more powerful sound. It's 70% louder. And it's much clearer sound. We'll be starting to take orders today. Kept at exact same price $49.99. It will ship next month. Today we're also launching a new product. We call Echo Input. This is an incredibly thin tiny version of Echo. It's also our first echo without a speaker. It's built for the use case to connect to the speaker to already have, or you aspire to buy. This will be available later this year for only $34.99. An echo sub when paired with a single echo will give you a 1.1 configuration. And when you pair it with left, right, you'll get a 2.1 configuration. It gives you rich deep sound. And it also can participate now in that multi-room audio. The Echo Sub will start shipping later this month. It's available for preorder starting today. $129.99. Echo link amp and echo link. They don't have any mics. They work in conjunction with echos that you scatter about your house. The team did not skimp on anything, here. They have a 60 watt, two channel amplifier. And multiple inputs and outputs, you really want including ethernet, coax, optical. Echo link will be available later this year for $199 and Echo link amp early next for $299. Today there'll be a brand new echo plus in our line up. It's got more powerful base, clearer sound, still has a hub built in, so it's the simplest way to get started with smart home that we know how to do. But we've added a beautiful fabric design. And the team also found a way to fit a temperature sensor inside of this. So as you put it around your house, you can now ask Alexa what the temperature is, or set up a routine. If it gets a big chilly in the kids' room, Alexa can tell you and you can take action. Echo Plus preorders starting today. Still only $149. We also launching today the Alexa smart plug. Basically is our best embodiment of frustration free set up. It will pre order starting today for $25 and start shipping next month. Let me give you a demo of what this looks like. I have a smart plug here. I have a cord. The cord is connected to that lamp we just brought it through here. And I'll just go ahead and plug that in here. And then I'm going to go ahead and bring up an Echo. At this point they're communicating to each other just as I described. They're sending credentials back and forth. This is authenticated in the cloud, to make sure that you own this particular device, and then they're going back and forth. I don't know if you can hear it. I've found first plug, and you can control it by saying, turn on first plug. If you want to rename it, say for example, rename first plug to bedroom light. Alexa Rename First Plug to Bedroom Light.
