Ladies and gentlemen. -- paper white. When we set out to build this. Paper white display. It didn't exist. We had to invent it. -- 25%. More contrast. -- -- -- Blacks are black -- its 212. Pixels per inch -- has 62%. More pixels. We didn't stop there. And say this revolutionary display stack. Starts at the paper -- display on the bottom. We add capacity touch. On top that would -- -- -- like -- that -- guide represents four years. -- -- -- -- -- -- how it works. You can think the best as the fiber optic cable but flattened out. Very thin -- fiber optic cable. The light travels down that cable. And then. Its nano and printed so that it releases. Just the right amount of light. All along the way. Make lighting even across the entire display. Incredibly challenging. The end. What it means is -- light is directed down. Towards the display. The opposite of an LCD display it's exactly like ambient light. For the reader. Perfect in the bedroom. Perfect and direct sunlight. People are going to love this device and they're gonna love the light. In fact they're gonna love the lights so much. They're gonna leave it on all the time. Even write programs we figured that out early. So we worked on our power management. Until Kindle paper white can get eight weeks of battery life even with a light on. You'll have to. Recharge your paper white until Halloween. Capacity of touch is more accurate. -- let us make the bezel much thinner the whole device is when nine point one millimeters. It's. Thinner than a magazine lighter than a paperback.
