-Well, Buick is one of the young that GM didn't eat, so that puts more pressure on this company to sell more volume going forward, not just in China where they loved these cars.
This is the new Buick Verano, and it is one way you can sell more cars, make one as more affordable.
This is gonna price out in the low 20, something Buick has, quite gets down to that level yet, so new tear for their offerings.
Good looking car.
Buick's getting a lot of good reviews these days for their styling and this is
another home run, I would say.
Starting off with a 2.4-L Ecotec, but later in 2012, we're gonna see a 2-L turbo in this guy.
The base motor is gonna be doing something like around 177 horsepower.
It gets to 0 to 60 in 8 seconds with that 6-speed automatic you see there.
Now, let's head over some technology.
This car will have what's called the OnStar mobile app enabled for it, but since it's not a Chevy Volt with all that electrical function in it, what would that app do?
Well, it'll let you check your fuel level, check your range, tire pressure, anything else
to this sort of telematically oriented on the vehicle, but again, nothing's like [unk] or things like that because it ain't one of those.
Also, that stereo is what they call their new advanced radio.
It let's you do things like streaming Pandora.
It'll also recognize down the road with optional software, the ability to take in text and turn it into speech and it also has HD radio in there and I believe it's gonna have that possibility, which I believe, only GM does right now.
Kind of like a simple Tivo for broadcast radio.
As you look inside, you can see Buick's trying to deliver on the luxury
and technology combo.
They are far from alone in that area.
Lexus points to that one.
Audi does as well and they are specifically going after Audi A3 and Lexus IS.
Pretty tough benchmarks to hit, but it may get there.
