Our Land Rover Discovery looks at home in the woods

This is a brand-new 2017 Land Rover Discovery.

But it's not just any Discovery, it's our Discovery!

We'll be testing this out for the next 12 months to give you our full impressions. 

We'll be testing it on-road and off, and reporting back on how economical, how practical and how reliable it is.

We selected the HSE Luxury trim, which includes niceties like an 825-watt Meridian sound system. 

Beneath the hood is Land Rover's 3.0-liter, supercharged six-cylinder.

It puts down 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque through all four wheels. 

And there's LR's Terrain Response 2 4x4 system here, which will make this a very capable off-roader.

The color? That's called Silicon Silver, with a two-tone effect thanks to the backed-out roof.
