New Honda Civic gets a sporty, coupe profile (pictures)
Honda unveiled the coupe version of the 2016 Civic during the Los Angeles auto show, a sportier-looking vehicle than the Civic sedan launched last month.
LOS ANGELES -- Honda took the rear doors off its tenth-generation Civic for the Los Angeles auto show, unveiling the coupe version of this completely re-engineered car.
The front of the Civic Coupe remains exactly the same as the Civic sedan, even down to the drivetrain offerings.
As with the sedan, LED headlights can be had at high trim levels. Two engines are available: a two-liter four cylinder and a more powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter four cylinder.
For the Civic Coupe, Honda lowered the roofline by an inch and shortened the rear overhang, resulting in a car 5.5-inches shorter than the sedan in overall length.
Taking out the rear doors allowed for a raked roofline and large rear fenders.
The taillights get a unique look compared to those of the sedan.
A spoiler sits at the rear, behind the stylish side graphic.
All the technology available in the sedan, including a navigation head unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with driver-assist features, can be had in the Civic Coupe.
