Earth Day is a reminder to look for ways to be more environmentally conscious. One way to do so is by using an e-bike to get around. You can get plenty of fresh air and sunshine and avoid all those traffic jams. E-bikes are a significant investment, with top models costing thousands of dollars, but when you compare that to the price of a new car, e-bikes start looking more affordable. Add to that some big discounts, and you'll be on two wheels (or maybe three) before summertime.

Below, we've gathered some of the best e-bike deals around, with options starting at less than $400. Whether you want one for yourself or someone else, keep checking this page, because we'll continue to update it as offers come and go.

Aventon/CNET

This rugged Aventon e-bike is designed to handle all kinds of terrain, thanks to its front suspension. It also boasts some serious power, with a 502-watt motor and top speeds of up to 28 mph. It has a range of up to 60 miles on a single charge and has a backlit LCD display that makes it easy to monitor your speed, battery levels, distance and more.

Niner Bikes/CNET

This multipurpose e-bike offers four levels of assistance, making it suitable for exercise as well as commuting. It can go as fast as 35 mph and has 11 different speeds. And, right now, you can save $900 off the regular list price.

Paselec/CNET

Go up to 40 miles per charge with this 750-watt e-bike. With just a six-hour charge, you can cruise with a top speed of 28 mph. It has 27-inch wheels and nine speeds, and Amazon has it discounted from $1,199 to $799 right now.

Ancheer/CNET

At less than $400, this Ancheer e-bike is one of the more affordable options on this list, but it can still reach speeds of up to 20 mph and travel up to 55 miles on a single charge while on electric bike mode. The savings aren't huge on this bike right now, but as one of the least expensive bikes, it's a bonus to save a few more bucks.

Swagtron/CNET

Our reviewer Joseph Kaminski called this folding electric bike "the best electric bike for small spaces and small budgets," but what it lacks in size it makes up for in usability. Reaching speeds up to 15 mph, it has pedal assist and its own throttle.

Ride1up/CNET

A lightweight electric bike (33 pounds), our reviewer noted it can go as far as 20 to 30 miles on its 36-volt battery, and you can cruise at speeds of up to 24 mph on pedal assist. Joseph called it the best entry-level e-bike. And right now it's more affordably priced, at $100 less than its regular retail price.

Rad Power/CNET

For the ultimate cargo bike experience, consider the RadRunner 2 by Rad Power Bikes. It has a 750-watt motor, gets 45 miles per charge, and can hold up to 300 pounds. And right now it's $100 less than the regular retail price.

Rad Power/CNET

The RadWagon 5 is out now, so the price of the RadWagon 4 has dipped a little, down $200 from its previous retail price. If replacing your car is a goal, this cargo bike might do the trick. You can haul groceries, kids and even the family dog with this bike, which can go up to 45 miles on a single charge and hold up to 350 pounds.

Juiced Bikes/CNET

If you're after a high-quality e-bike at a fraction of the regular price, take a look at the HyperScrambler 2 from Juiced Bikes. This model is being discontinued and its replacement will be out later this year, but if you want a bike right now, this one won't disappoint. Features include dual battery capacity and an epic 100-mile range, alongside safety features like turn signals and side-view mirrors.
