A little about meFlag Profile
Short Bio: Technically I am a grad/PHD student for the next 4-5 years but I have already completed 8 yrs of undergrad and a professional degree in the medical field, so I guess you could say I am a professional student. I am currently trying to update my electronics out of the late 90's/early 2000's era of technology. My knowledge is fairly basic, though I feel I know more than the average person in some areas because of the reading about new products/technologies that I have been doing the past two years. My goal with joining CNET is to ease my transition from low budget/student to tech savy adult...... if that makes any sense. I would currently call myself a low budget adult, because of my grad student status. I recently upgraded(from a 27" tube TV and a VHS/DVD combo unit) to a budget priced 720p 50" Sanyo plasma, an entry level Magnavox Bluray, and am currently searching for a budget priced soundbar +/- subwoofer(if my ebay bid holds, it will be a used midlevel Sony w/ subwoofer). I have always and still do live in a rural area, so my desire for/knowledge of some new technologies is hampered by limited access to these things.
