The One Touch Evolve
Everything about the Evolve says budget, from the $99 price tag off contract, to the under-performing internal specs. The phone is one of two Alcatel models making their way to T-Mobile in the US in fall 2013.
Slick design
One of the phone's only pluses is its high-end-looking design, with a soft matte back cover and silver accents. However, the phone doesn't feel solid when you pick it up.
Chunky build
The Evolve is 0.4 inch thick, making it look and feel bulky.
Capacitive hot keys
Instead of physical buttons, the phone has hot keys on the front bezel.
5-megapixel camera
The Evolve has a 5-megapixel back camera with a fixed-focus lens, which can't take sharp close-up photos.
The inside specs
Inside, there's a 1GHz processor and 1,400mAh battery. The Evolve can only support 3G connections, even though it's available on T-Mobile, which offers 4G.
