The savings continue with these great post-Cyber Monday deals

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over -- but that doesn't mean there aren't still some great deals to be had on tech gifts. Here are the best ones we've found that are still in effect. Note that all the following deals have been updated and verified as of Thursday, December 5, but that many of the deals are fluid and can expire without notice.

Moto X ($349 contract-free)

Moto X (read review)
Motorola had a big Moto X promotion lined up for Cyber Monday, but -- not unlike Healthcare.gov -- its servers couldn't handle the demand. To make amends, the deal was repeated on Wednesday, December 4, and you'll have a final opportunity to grab the deal on Monday, December 9. That's a contract-free model for any of the four major US carriers for $150 off ($349 for the 16GB version, $399 for the 32GB model), customizable on the Moto Maker site to boot. Supplies are limited, so jump in as soon as the sale starts on Monday morning. (If you or your giftee don't need LTE -- and you're an AT&T or T-Mobile customer -- check out the similar Moto G, available soon contract-free and unlocked for $200/16GB.) Meanwhile Amazon is offering the Moto X for a penny with a two-year contract on Verizon, while they last.

Post-Cyber Monday deals at the Microsoft Store

The Black Friday deals are gone, but there are still some decent deals available at the Microsoft Store. The best one is probably the Xbox 360E bundled with Tomb Raider and Halo 4 for $250 -- but be aware you can snag that at the same price at Amazon, too.

Dell Cyber Week Sale

Dell Cyber Week deals
Dell has sales throughout the week on PCs, tablets, and non-Dell electronics, too. If you're looking for PCs, seek out discounted Core i3 and Core i5 models (even last year's Ivy Bridge chips) rather than Celeron or Pentium.

Verizon Wireless: $50 to $100 off Droid Maxx, Lumia 928, and LG G2 with contract

Verizon is offering many of its top phones and tablets at a discount past Cyber Monday. The deals seem to change each day, but we're currently seeing (as of Thursday) the following notable deals: the LG G2 and Droid Maxx (with its awesome all-day battery life) are $50 and $100 off, respectively. And the Nokia Lumia 928 is free. Of course, each of those deals requires a two-year contract. Follow Verizon on Twitter for updates.

T-Mobile's weeklong phone sales

T-Mobile's latest cell phone deals may have Black Friday written all over them, but in reality, the off-contract carrier and mobile industry agitator is extending its deals all week long. Right now, the company is offering $0 down deals on the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5S, LG G2, and Nexus 5 (pictured), among others.

Amazon Cyber Monday Deals Week

Amazon is the 800-pound gorilla of online shopping, and the e-tailer is in the middle of a days-long list of ongoing deals that will run through the entire week. Amazon's deals can be found on its Cyber Monday Deals Week page, where new time-limited deals are posted every 10 minutes (you can see current and upcoming deals to plan accordingly). We've also pulled out some of our favorite deals on the following pages.

'Game of Thrones' books on Kindle for $3 to $6 each

All five 'Game of Thrones' books on Kindle for $10 total (see deal)
Sadly, the deal to grab all five "Game of Thrones" books on Kindle for just $10 has expired. But you can still get each of the five books for as little as $3 to $6 per ebook. Still a pretty good deal. (And remember, Amazon lets you schedule e-book gifting, so you can cleverly have this one hit their inbox on December 25.)

Blu-rays for under $10 (Amazon)

Blu-rays for under $10 (Amazon)
Amazon has a boatload of Blu-ray discs for under $10. But here's the real pro tip: search out the ones that have digital copies included; those are the iTunes or UltraViolet (or both) codes that will add the movie to your cloud-based video library for on-demand viewing. Many of the Blu-rays also have a DVD version included, too.

Monoprice deals

Monoprice.com December deals
From battery packs to iPhone cases to an HDMI-over Cat 5 distribution network, one of CNET's favorite price-busting retailers has deals running all month long. Most post-Cyber Monday discounts aren't super steep, but we're guessing that's because Monoprice's original prices are so cheap to begin with. That said, the best deal we found was...(next slide, please)

Sony HT-CT260 (read review)
If the $300 Pioneer is too rich for your blood, the Sony HT-CT260 is the best alternative. Also Bluetooth-enabled, the Sony is another of our favorite sound bars of 2013, and it's selling for just $200 at Amazon and Best Buy.

Logitech Harmony Smart Control ($100, Amazon, Best Buy)

Logitech Harmony Smart Control (read review)
The Harmony Smart Control is Logitech's most affordable RF-capable universal remote, meaning you can forget about that pesky "line of sight" issue that plagues infrared-based remotes. Use the included simple remote (right) or any iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or Android phone -- interchangeably -- to control your home theater setup, with the control pod (left) passing on the commands. Normally, this unit retails for $130, but both Amazon and Best Buy are selling it for just under $100.

Lenovo IdeaPad S400 ($399, Best Buy)

Lenovo IdeaPad S400 (Best Buy)
Nearly all of the sub-$400 -- or even sub-$500 -- laptops you'll see on sale have a big catch: either they're refurbished, they're running a crappy underpowered processor (Celeron, Pentium, or a throwaway AMD), or the screen is tiny. The Lenovo IdeaPad S400 is a nice exception: it's got a 2012-era Core i3 processor, a 14-inch screen, and a 500GB hard drive. If you're looking for a decent, get-it-done laptop for Mom or Dad, this a great choice for the money.

Polk RM6750 ($199, Newegg)

Polk RM6750 (Newegg)
Sure, sound bars get all the ink, and some of them sound very good. But if you want actual stereo and surround separation, nothing beats an actual surround system. We haven't reviewed it, but at this price, 5/5 "eggs" from 141 listeners is enough to earn it our recommendation, too. (This Cyber Monday deal was still in effect as of Tuesday.)
