The bikes of the 2013 Geneva auto show
GENEVA--I love bikes as much as I love cars. That's why, at one of the most important car shows in the world, I spent a significant amount of time looking for bicycles.
This gorgeous wooden bike was spotted at Volvo's booth to help illustrate the automaker's new bicycle detection technology.
EH Line EF100CR StreetRacer
The sleek EF100CR by EH Line uses a combination of pedal power and a 250-watt, high-torque electric motor to reach a top speed of about 28 mph.
EH Line EF100BR StreetCruiser
Elsewhere in EH Line's booth, the EF100BR StreetCruiser looks great in black and uses a 350-watt Panasonic motor to increase its rider's effective cruising range.
Morgan Roadster and bike
This single-speed bike has a simple design with blue paint that matches the finish of the vehicle it accompanies. The leather seats, saddlebag, and grips compliment the Morgan's classic aesthetic.

However, what really grabbed my attention was the interesting way that the presenter has stored the bike on this Morgan Roadster's rear deck, twisting the stem and handlebars 90-degrees for a nearly flush mount.

One more look at that Morgan Roadster won't hurt. OK, let's get back to the bikes.
Peugeot Concept Bike Onyx
The Peugeot Concept Bike Onyx is a stunning bit of mobile sculpture that draws its inspiration from highly aerodynamic triathlon and time trials bikes.

Ultradeep V-wheels, a blade-like frame, and aerodynamic handlebars cut through the air at speed. The shiny copper-and-matte-black color scheme helps it look fast standing still.
Mazda's bike cars
Mazda wanted us all to believe that its Auto Start-Stop anti-idling system makes its cars like bikes by stopping the engine's cylinders at the optimal position for seamless restarting. The automaker compares the technique to the way that cyclists reposition their bikes' pedals when pulling away from a stop.
Smart e-bike
The Smart e-bike aids its rider with 250 watts of electric power and can be equipped with a handlebar-mount for your smartphone. This electric city bike is a nice compliment to the automaker's electric city car.
Hamann custom motorcycle
This custom motor-bike in Hamann's booth isn't a "bicycle," but it's very cool (and a bit menacing) all the same.

Lock closely and you'll see an airbrushed portrait of the King of Cool, Steve McQueen, gracing the Hamann cycle's body work.
Opel Adam and custom bike
This Opel Adam's brown-and-white color scheme is reflected in the custom single-speed bike displayed with it. I love brown bikes and cars all the same.
