Samsung thinks the Italians say it sexier, so it's named its new candybar phone Lucido, announced today, which is the Italian word for 'sleek'.
The Lucido is the follow-up to the Samsung U800, which we loved. With its brushed-metal finish and long battery life, the U800 was a classic mid-range phone, so we've got high hopes for its newer sibling.
The handset will feature a 56mm (2.2-inch) AMOLED screen. We've seen the screen in person on the upcoming Tocco Ultra, and we loved its bright, vivid colours -- even in the glaring lights of our secret command centre at the top of the BT Tower.
It will also have a 5-megapixel camera with face and smile detection, zippy downloads via 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and GPS with Google Maps built in.
From the press images, it looks like Samsung has gone with
slimming black to make this 11.8mm handset look even trimmer. We're not sure
about the red pinstripe -- it has a hint of A-Team van. If you're going all Murdock on us, Samsung, you might as well do it right.
