The Parrot Minikit Smart combines a Bluetooth speakerphone with a car cradle and charger.
A spring-loaded arm holds a smartphone or other mobile device in place while driving.
The Smart's cradle can be rotated into a portrait or landscape orientation.
Phones as large as the Droid X should fit in the Minikit Smart's cradle. Here we have an iPhone in a case.
The Smart connects to its mounting arm with a magnetic point and friction clips.
There's only on point of articulation on the arm: a ball joint at the unit's neck.
The backside is also home to the Minikit Smart's loudspeaker.
The unit features two USB connections. One is for charging the Minikit itself, and the other sends electricity to the paired phone.
A selection of USB pigtails are available for connecting to phones that support Micro-USB, Mini-USB, or Apple's dock connector.
The Minikit features a small microphone on its base.
This microphone can be removed and repositioned to be nearer to the driver's head.
A visor clip is provided in the box, as is a small adhesive mounting point.
Power comes from this 12-volt-to-USB adapter. However, the Smart features an internal rechargeable battery with up to 10 hours of talk time.
