The MyFord Touch cabin interface uses new cell phone-style directional buttons on the steering wheel spokes, along with two 4.2-inch LCDs in the instrument cluster and an 8-inch LCD in the center of the dashboard.
For the instrument cluster displays, vehicle information is on the left and audio, phone, and navigation info is on the right. With the base level MyFord system, the screen on the right migrates to the center of the dashboard, replacing the 8-inch LCD used by MyFord Touch.
This is the navigation screen as it appears on the MyFord Touch center, 8-inch LCD. Ford updated its maps, improving the looks considerably over the previous generation, while providing some 3D landmarks.
Ford says it has improved its 9-1-1 Assist feature, which automatically dials 911 through a paired Bluetooth phone if the car detects airbag deployment. Its location data, which it can automatically send to a 911 operator, has been made more accurate.
