Lenovo announced its second phone of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It is the S850, the first being the heavyweight S860. The S850 is more svelte, and despite some similarities, it's quite a different phone from its big brother.
It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, which will likely be upgraded by its launch.
The phone comes with Lenovo's latest custom apps, with a lot of options for online storage, sharing and security, and a cool camera app that can make you and your friend look better.
The S850 comes with 1GB of RAM and a 2,000mAh battery (half that of the S860).
On the back is a glowing Lenovo logo with customizable colors for different notifications.
The new phone is available in white and hot pink.
The S850's SIM slot is very similar to that of an iPhone, supporting micro-SIM.
The S850 sports a 5-megapixel front camera, which is great for video calls.
On the back it sports a 13-megapixel camera, much better than the 8 megapixels of the S860.
Specs-wise, the S850 is very similar to the S860, sharing the same 1.3GHz quad-core chip, the same 1,280x720 HD screen, and the same 16GB of storage. At 5 inches, however, the S850's screen is smaller than that of the S860.
The phone comes with a standard Micro-USB 3.0 port for charging and connecting to a computer.
Like the S860, the S850 won't go on sale in the US or Western Europe, but will be widely available elsewhere in Asia, the Middle East, and Central America. It makes its debut in June.
