Scaled down, photos from the FS camcorders look very saturated, but they're quite low resolution and on par with a mediocre camera phone.
While white balance for video shot indoors is pretty good, color accuracy is not; the oranges in our test scene were completely off, and the rest of the colors undersaturated, like the yellow banana and the deep red rose. As a result, the video looks quite washed out. (Scaled-down frame grab.)
When zoomed in closely, the video looks reasonably sharp, but the FS' video is a bit soft overall. (Inset is scaled down 720x480 screen grab, larger photo is 1:1 crop)
Though it looks dark, this frame grab is from video shot under typical office fluorescent lighting (around 40-60 lux), and you can see the typical low-light video noise. (Inset is scaled down full frame grab, main photo is 1:1 crop.)
Typical video in bright sunlight looked fairly average for its class; that is, not very sharp and washed out with blown-out highlights. (1:1 crop from a 720x480 frame grab.)
