Cooking with iDevices' Kitchen Thermometer (pictures)
This $80 meat thermometer uses Bluetooth technology to tell you your food is finished cooking.
The iDevices Kitchen Thermometer costs $80 in the US, £65 in the UK and AU$100 in Australia.
It weighs 5.9 ounces (167 grams) and is roughly palm-size.
This model comes with two probes and two probe wraps for easy storage.
The magnetic base lets you mount your thermometer on a magnetic surface.
Its digital display shows temperature readings.
Use the arrow buttons to switch between probes.
Bluetooth technology pairs the thermometer to your compatible Android or iOS device.
You can cook two different things simultaneously or simply get extra readings on a single recipe.
The iDevices app lets you monitor the progress of your food.
Select among preloaded peak temp or cooking range presets or create your own.
This battery-powered device uses two AAs.
When a probe registers a peak temperature, it will send you a push notification.
That way, you know your food has reached its optimal temperature.
You can also use this for temperature ranges, if you want to make sure that your food stays within a particular range while it's cooking.
