Welcome to the future of tablet photography
The 8.4-inch Dell Venue 8 7000 is one of the most innovative tablets to come out this year. In addition to its high-end specs, including a super-HD screen and slim design, it packs a depth-capturing camera on the back.
Aluminum casing
Without knowing they're there, the thin black strip that houses the dual-cameras just looks like an oddly stylish and minimalist design quirk.
Thinnest ever?
Dell claims that the Venue 8 7000 is the thinnest tablet in the universe, however, when placed next to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, they're virtually identical in width.
Complete control
You can adjust the focal point and depth-of-field after taking the photo, as well as adjust the colors of the layers in the photograph.
Measuring measurements
Interior designers can rejoice at the ability to accurately measure dimensions with the simple snap of a photo.
Front-facing camera and speakers
The front-facing stereo speakers sit next to the selfie-taker. Admittedly, I was too distracted by the 3D camera to pay any mind to the front-facing camera.
A trifecta of cameras
In addition to the 3D and front-facing camera, there's a regular ol' 8-megapixel rear camera.
Flush buttons
The Dell Venue 8 7000 houses minimal buttons, limited to the power button and volume rocker. They're almost flush to the tablet's edge and add to its sleek aesthetic.
Micro-USB port
There's no microSD card expansion slot, so the micro-USB port will come in handy for transferring your files.
Powerful gallery
All of the photo editing features can be found in the native Gallery app. There's a slight learning curve, but it's easier than mastering Photoshop.
