Bill Gates, on day three of his college tour, listens Wednesday as MIT students present ideas ranging from how technology can help improve health care in poor countries to ways of getting more students involved in global issues.
As he does at each school he visits, Gates meets on Wednesday with MIT recipients of the Gates Millenium Scholarship, a foundation program that funds college educations for high-achieving minority students.
Gates listens as second-year doctoral student Nada Hashmi outlines her project to bring mobile health clinics to rural areas in Saudi Arabia.
"He sets a great example of how to best use resources for the better," Hashmi said. "He forced me to think of the big picture and challenged me to tackle health issues at a global level--which was great."
