CA unveiled Thursday two free "insurance policies" with the purchase of its Internet Security Suite 2007. Under its identity theft policy, customers can receive up to $5,000 to cover lost wages, legal fees and correction to credit reporting information if their identities are compromised while running the CA software.

CA is also offering a virus protection policy with up to $1,500 when the Internet Security Suite 2007 is purchased. The policy covers technical support, repair services and hardware replacement if a person's PC or laptop fails while running the security software. The two insurance policies remain in place for a year after the suite's purchase and are valid in all states, except New York.
