  • "Fabulous industrial design - try it, you'll like it"

Pros One of the few tablet PCs that recognizes that sometimes a slate form factor is better and sometimes a traditional laptop form factor is better without making you choose one or the other. Snap the keyboard off for a true slate experience, snap it back on

Cons It is not fast. At times, it seems "relaxed" while at other times it seems downright pokey. However, I do not find that performance in unacceptable, especially once applications have loaded. I guarantee that if you start taking notes on this, performan

Summary I love the Tablet PC. I was a die hard laptop user and thought this was a good next move. The Compaq TC1000 has been very good. Great battery life and I like being able to snap everything together or apart. Forget the docking station and opt for a USB 2.0 device instead. Most of comments are around the software and not the tablet itself. I replaced the WI-FI with a combo A-B-G card and added Bluetooth. If they can only get a wireless power cord, I would be set. Office 2003 is going to be a must for any Tablet PC owner. I am glad I waited for this version of Office to make the switch to a pen. I can understand if people have a lackluster experience without Office 2003 or other ink enabled applications. Web surfing with a pen just sucks. I would rather have a scheduled recognition to keep writing and not do any recognition in real time. I added the max memory and shut down the virtual memory. I tweaked XP just like I would on a desktop and it added lots of speed. XP is bloated pig for speed and you have to tune it for performance. No change with that problem for this device. I switched from a desktop, laptop, and pda and will never go back. I will only crave more WiFi G and A connections to move everything around faster.

  • "Too slow, with poor RAM"
    on

    Pros Stylish

Cons Slow, jams up frequently, simply horrid original stylus, disasteriffic graphics card. It can't even play simply 3D based online games like 'GunBound' or 'Ragnarok Online' and doesn't register my office networking automatically. It jams up when I'm working
