Amazon Mother's Day sale: Big discounts on Kindle, Echo Show, Fire tablet and more

There's a bunch of gear on sale at Amazon right now.

Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 10. True to form, Amazon just cut prices on a variety of its devices: Kindle e-readers, Echo Show smart screens and so on. Many of them would make fine gifts. But here's the rub: Because one- and two-day shipping options are on hold during the coronavirus crisis, there's no guarantee Mom will receive them by Sunday. If you're hoping to make that happen, I'd order as soon as possible.

Here's a quick rundown of the deals you can get, including a few that tie their all-time lowest prices:

Fire 7 tablet: $40 (save $10)

Echo Dot (3rd-generation): $30 (save $20)

Echo Show 5: $50 (save $40)

Echo Show 8: $80 (save $50)

Kindle e-reader (current-generation): $65 (save $25)

Another deal worth mentioning, even though it's not an Amazon device: The Roku Express HD media streamer for $24, a savings of $5. Unfortunately, it's not in stock until May 11 -- meaning it might be a better fit for a dad or grad than for Mom.
