Hi guys.
The **** Ngo here.
If you've been wondering when the solid state drive, SSD that is, would hit the two terabyte milestone, the answer is now.
I know because I have here not one, but two!
The Samsung SSD 850 PRO and the SSD 850 EVO.
Now respectively these are the high-end and the budget So it's a drive for consumer.
But now they are both the highest capacity drive on the market.
Now I had reviewed this drive separately when it first came out with up to one terabyte capacity.
So for more information, check out those review.
The new drive here we're not putting any more performance or feature.
They just close the gap between SSD and regular hard drive.
Now both hard drives here share the same set of features.
They use Samsung 3D vulcan land flap memory to support encryption and have very high endurance.
The pro drive is- It'll be faster also have a doubled interence of the evo and also double the warranty time 10 years verses five years.
Now the durency the total amount that it can write to an SSD before the drive because unreliable and with this 2 terabyte evo drive here If you write, 50 gigabytes per day and everyday it would take you more than eight years to wear out this drive.
With the pro drive it would take you up to 16 years, not 50 gigabytes is a lot of data and everyday is the kind of disciple even I dont always have.
So its safe to say that your gonna have to replace your computer Way before we have to worry about the endurance of these drives.
What I'd have to worry about however is the price.
Now they're not crazily expensive but they're not cheap either.
The Pro is actually gonna be $1000, the Evo drive $800.
Now those are the suggested retail price, so the ship price is gonna be maybe lower.
But never low enough really.
Now I'm not sure who gonna need a two terabyte solid state drive, but I know that we all want one.
And if you're cool enough, you get not one, but two at the same time before anybody else.
As you can clearly see here.
And that's because I'm **** Ngo, this has been a short, quick, little [UNKNOWN] for Now the very first two-tier [UNKNOWN] state drives on the market, the SSD 850 Pro and the SSD 850 EVO from Samsung.
