ISmartAlarm is a do it yourself home security system made up of motion sensor and alarms.
If something triggers your alarm, you'll get a text message letting you know as well as an automated alarm.
From there, calling the police is left up to you.
The system starts at 199 and you can add a camera for another $150.
Nest Cam is a home security camera.
The system streams 1080P HD videos straight to your smartphone, so you can see what's going on at home no matter where you are.
The Nest Cam is $200 and if you want to store your camera's footage, plans start at $10 a month.
Finally, if you have an old Android phone laying around, a free app called SalientEye can turn it into a motion detecting device.
The app uses the front facing camera to detect motion and immediately capture photos of the action.
