What looking through HoloLens is really like (Tomorrow Daily 206)

Culture
On todays show a transforming truck, but it doesn't turn into a robot. A really, really cool and interesting look at what hollow lens looks like from the perspective of the wearer. And Legendary Pictures releases a VR app, that frankly is much better than the reality that we're living. [INAUDIBLE] Isn't that true of most VR? True. Tomorrow Daily. [MUSIC] Greetings, citizens of the internet. Welcome to Tomorrow Daily, the best geek talk show in the universe. I'm Ashley Esqueda. Joining me today, a special guest. Fancy man about town, Brian Bishop. That's me, thanks for using my full name, fancy man about town, Brian Bishop. I wanted to make sure I got all the honorifics. That's right. [CROSSTALK] You've been on the show before, we've had you as a guest before. Thank you for coming back. Thanks for having me back, I must have done something right. Or not done something less wrong than the other people. You didn't burn the place down, that qualifies you for a return visit. Yet. Yes. Yes. So tell everybody really quickly what you do, where they can find you, and then we'll do more of that at the end too. Yes, for sure. I'm a professional podcaster. You can hear me on the Adam Carolla show, as well as my show The Film Vault. And if you're interested in hearing more of my nonsense, I wrote a book called Shrinkage that, I'm very proud of it. So check it out if you're so inclined. And it's not what you think. No, it is what you think. It's excellent. It's great. Oh, is that what they're thinking? Yeah. I assume that's what they're thinking. They're thinking it's terrible. No, it's really good. Okay, so we have some really cool stories to talk about today. Some VR, AR, transformer trucks, all that stuff, so let's hit the headlines. [NOISE] So we've talked a little bit on this show about what it looks like through a Hololens. Okay. So Microsoft Hololens. And Microsoft made this sort of partnership that they've been talking about. We heard about it a little bit at Build a few months ago, made this partnership official with Case Western Reserve University, and they're going to be doing these medical teaching applications inside Hololens. So, students could actually look at a full size human body and peel them away in layers, and see how muscles attach to the body, and how [UNKNOWN] works, and the nervous system. All that stuff and- Saves money on cadavers! Definitely saves money on cadavers! The cadaver business is going to go way down! The cadaver stock is plummeting! Immediately- Sell all my cadaver stocks! Sell your cadaver stocks, please! So, one of the things that I thought was really interesting about this video that Microsoft released Was that it actually gives, for the first time, a really true view of how you view things through Hololens. So we discussed what a narrow field of view the Hololens has, and for smaller things, like if you're looking at the human heart and everything, this is rad. This looks so, so cool. That's something out of my nightmares. That's a floating heart just chasing him around the room. A beating, floating, living heart floating around your room. Room. Yeah, some are still beating but yet disembodied at the same time. Indeed, indeed. And so one of the things that I thought was really interesting is that it shows you exactly how narrow that field of view is. You'll see it starts cutting off at certain points. And it's not your entire field of vision. And I think that was the one thing that A lot of people have trouble kind of describing to people who hadn't tried on Hollow Lens yet. So we saw Halo experience at E3 and people would put on Hollow Lens and they could see these people were like okay Spartan like, let's go, let's get you loaded out and all this stuff. But it was a very narrow field of view so it was like you felt like you were looking through a little window and I think this video kind of illustrates that perfectly. Okay. Which is pretty interesting. But I love this idea. Yeah. Of being able to use instead of live experimentation on a person, which we can't do anymore, because it's wrong and terrible. They can actually make a holographic living person and have people study it like that. Which is pretty neat. And you could actually add Diseases to these people, conditions. Different, yeah. Right. Broken bones. Like I mean, you can do that and people could look at a body and diagnose it. In real time. Which I think it's brilliant. I mean, I think this is a great way to kind of push forward medical education and in a really great way. It is brilliant, and all joking aside You know, medical stuff, they call it "practicing medicine" for a reason. Because very few people know, no one knows everything about, you know, a certain thing. Right. And then they practice, they get better, they learn. This is a way for people to share knowledge, and learn a lot of knowledge. A lot of times, whether you're a patient, or a doctor, or trying to become a doctor. A student who is trying to become a doctor, You're at the mercy of who you're learning from. Or Yeah. Where you're Very true. Learning from. Or where you have access to. And, if this opens up the whole world of medical knowledge, to the whole world, we could train people in other countries. In remote areas. Indeed. People stationed in the North and South Pole. Which would be fantastic. It'd be fantastic, so I'm all for it. One thing I'm not all for, connecting this to Web M. D. Oh, okay, cuz people are gonna be like, let me see what I have. Oh, yeah, let me see what I have. What do these guys look like? [LAUGH] And then they're gonna be like, oh, I got all this going on in here. And they're gonna be so upset, and they're gonna run to their doctors and be like, I'm dying, everything's wrong. Right, yeah, sure, good news, hypochondriacs, you have a new hobby. Exactly, exactly, but hypochondriacs either Feed your hypochondria by buying a holo-lens, or avoid by not buying a holo-lens cuz you don't want anything like this. But I thought this was so cool and I'm curious, you guys can let us know either on Twitter, or in the comments on YouTube, Does the field of view thing, does that change your position on whether or not your excited about Holo Link? Because I think a lot of people have been really curious to see exactly what it looks like, and I think some people might be turned off by the fact that it's a very small field of view. But that seems like somethings that's going to become That's going to improve with time, right? Right, yeah, I think so. Technology, I mean. The fact that the technology exists, it's only going to get better, I assume. Right, but it could be years, before a really new headset with full field view is out. How impatient we've gotten. It might be years before we see The entire field of vision What a terrible thing, what a terrible terrible thing. But yeah, I thought that was really interesting and I loved the video, I thought it was great, and if you guys have the chance you should definitely go over to Microsoft Research's site and start looking, they have more Holo Lens stuff up It's pretty neat. And so from AR to VR, let's talk about Legendary. Well, Legendary Pictures, they released Three apps, correct? For three different movies. Well it's like a single app with three different... Oh, it's a single app. experiences in it. Okay, I gotcha. So you can download each one. It's pretty sweet. You were showing me with a card board earlier. Oh yeah. I was looking through this Fancy view finder which, Google cardboard. I know. My childhood is dying one new awesome thing at a time. It's just like a View Master. You're flying through the World of Warcraft. Yeah. No. It's pretty awesome. That's where you're flying on the back of a, what I can only assume is an eagle. Oh, yeah the griffins. Yeah. It says all the great griffins and suff. Look guys, I don't play alliance in World of Warcraft. I'm a horde. So, I don't fly on griffins, but apparently you guys do, so there you go. So you fly on a griffin over storm wind. This will be a wonderful experience for many of you, but it was pretty awesome. It's one of those things where you put your phone in the thing, and you turn the app on. It allows you to look literally spherical. It's all around you. Yeah. You can turn around. Everywhere. Look behind you. Up, down. Look up, down. The artistry, there's just the time it must have taken to go into just Making the clouds, and the buildings, and the detail Yeah I can only imagine what kind of Easter eggs are like planted around it. Yeah I'm curious about that too. So we have some footage of, like, the different, okay, so here are the different And I'm just talking about the Warcraft one Right, the Warcraft. So there's a Warcraft one was like the one that I really liked. Because we haven't really seen Seen anything from Morecraft. I saw some stuff that BlizzCon, which was amazing, but generally speaking- That's the stuff they haven't released yet. We're assuming that the full trailer's going to drop this weekend, at ComicCon. So this is one of the screencaps, so this should be, I mean Looks amazing. It's just a matter of time until we get a really good video game movie. It's just a matter of time. I don't think there's really been a great one. Super Mario Bros. You didn't let me finish. Aside from the iconic Super Mario Bros. There has not been a great video game movie and I think it's just a matter of time someone's gonna crack the code. No pun intended. The director of this movie, Duncan Jones, I don't know if you've seen his other two movies. Oh. Moon! Moon. One of my favorites. Moon is fantastic. If you guys have not seen Moon, track it down. So great. Sam Rockwell. Brilliant. He is brilliant! And he also did another movie called Source Code, with Jake Gyllenhaal- Really good! Which was much better than it should have been. I remember seeing the trailer and thinking, this is not going to be good. Ended up being really good! Ended up being really good. And that is always a really good sign for a movie- or director, or a future movie, when the guy is making good movies out of ones that maybe shouldn't be so good. Okay script. Yeah. Yeah. Or kind of ridiculous concepts. Yeah. Or a concept where you're like, I get it, I get it. But, no, it was So. And he also plays World of Warcraft, so it feels like he's the guy. So this is wide open, this could be the thing, this could be the one. This could be it, and I'm really excited to see this trailer. Like, I'm curious, I'm scared. Mm-hm. I'm like, what if I hate it? But they also have not only Warcraft, they have a Crimson Peak experience. Yeah, we've barely touched on the other ones Oh, I cant wait to see this movie. I'm obsessed with Guillermo Del Toro, and I also, I love gothic horror, so this is right up my alley. A lot of great actors in this, and it's really cool that Tom [UNKNOWN] narrates this thing, and you go into Crimson Peak, go into the manor, and there's a scary monster. It's really cool, and then there's also Pacific Rim. Right. A Jager pilot experience which is kind of weird. That's kind of cool. You're inside the Jager and he's looking at you, the other pilot and doing the neuro handshake and is looking at you and addressing you. It's pretty cool I think you and I are of different opinions of Pacific Rim. I think you liked it a lot more than I did. I just like fighting giant, fighting robots and, you know. You're only human. Yeah, I know. Pacific Rim for me was okay. Not quite as good as I'd hope it would be. I know fla- Yeah I think so A huge fan, but ok. I think that's. But at the suite though. I think that there's absolutely some issues with that movie. I can understand why some people weren't like, oh my god this is the greatest movie ever. I'm like well I think I would have liked some other things from that movie, but I didn't get them. There were elements that were sweet. That were great! Stop, yeah, Idris Elba, number one Yeah he's always great Just the best. Just plug him in, he's always good And Charlie Day. I just call him Charlie. But yes, you can download them on iOS or Android It is, yes. And download them, check them out. Go around the room and look and explore things. It's pretty cool. And if you don't have a cardboard, you don't need one. It'll ask you do you have cardboard? And you could be like, no, and it just lets you hold your phone and look around. The cardboard experience is the way to go thought, right? I think so. Cuz you kind of have the full immersion, a little bit. If you have cardboard, do that. Or a gear, I think a Gear VR would probably work too. So yeah, really cool stuff from Legendary. All right, last but not least, I have to show you. This might be better than any RV I've ever seen including luxury RVs. This is a castle truck. It comes out of New Zealand. This couple built this truck. And here it is transforming. So it is completely road legal when it's out on the road. Wow! So it started out as a truck. Yeah, starts out as a truck and it turns into a, Tiny castle that you can actually live it. So it's a house. So, here they are, building it. There's a whole bunch of these great pictures of them building this house over time. This is clearly hobbit nonsense, right? This is like, leftover props? Oh. That's what happens when you live in New Zealand. You get inspired by hobbit nonsense, and you start building castle trucks So yeah. Here it is. This is the finished project. Wow! It's insane. So this thing folds out into two rotating turrets. So there's the turrets right there. The turrets have a composting toilet, a shower, and a washing machine in them. So you can use the restroom in there. You can shower. You can wash your clothes. It's off the grid, right? It's like it's solar. 100% off the grid. Runs on solar power and caught rain water. They catch rain water and they use that. Better hope there's no drought. Oh yeah. Well, in New Zealand, it feels like it probably rains a lot. Yeah. It probably rains a lot. Yeah. Don't bring it to California. You'll die. So you have to dig your own moat? Oh, I think they should. Well. I think that's maybe a recommendation. That's a deal breaker for me. It's optional. Then there's a retractable roof. So there it is right there. It's gotta a hammock up there. It's got a full kitchen. It's got a kitchen, sleeping quarters, It's got, I mean this is insane. Its got a bathtub up top. Is this for resale? Can people buy this or is this just their showing off? I think this is just their showing off. Yeah, this is [INAUDIBLE] model. Over achieving. Look at that, it raises up and Pretty neat. Cute little castle that they made out of a truck. I mean this is Insane. I love it so much. 12 short hours later you have a castle. I know right? It is like absolutely insane. I mean, if you don't like putting up a tent to go camping this is not for you this would not be for you Yeah this is not for you. That's a full living space. Oh you know look at yeah it's like a full kit, they've got a kitchen, they've got a full thing going on here and then. Like I said, this is before they opened it up, and this is after. That's livable, I could lie awake in hours in there. That is completely livable. Now there's gotta be at some point someone's gonna be shooting a movie, some star is gonna be shooting a movie. They're gonna use this. Yeah, and use the element, I want the the Gathlic. I've got to have the Gathlic track. My trailer is the castle. So unfortunately, it does not transform into a robot. It's a Transformer, but it transforms into a house. Which is Still pretty amazing. But, yeah. Super cool Totally love this idea. Like happy to see people just making weird stuff that is rad. That's artwork right there. Someone doing something they love out of something that is otherwise I wouldn't say useless, but an ordinary item. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. They're making something I love. Totally. Totally good. Okay, so and before we go, I just want to let you guys know the hashtag of the day today is still gonna be #TDSDCC15. I know that's a lot of TD SDCC. Stadio com-com 15. We want you guys to tell us, you have a whole weekend now because it's Thursday. And when we come back on Monday you guys can tell us what you thought of either Kale's coverage, he's over on Yahoo covering Stadio Comicon. You can tell us what you thought of the show. Was there anything you missed? Was there anything you absolutely loved, you can't live without? What was the best or worst part of Comicon for you? Let us know. That's your mission should you choose to accept it. So on that note we're going to take a quick break but before we do, we're going to reach out to our friends at C Note Game stop and talk about what games they're playing right now. Just play this, we'll be right back. [music]. It's a slow period for new releases right now, so following up on Square Enix's announcement of the Final Fantasy Seven remake, I am going back and playing the original. This week I have been playing the Red Solstice, which is a top down shooter with some RPS elements. So right now I am crossing off one of my games of shame, a game that I never played in the past and always meant to and that's the original Shenmue For the Dreamcast. As you know, not many video games are released during the summer time, but it doesn't matter cuz I'm still playing Witcher. Final Fantasy VII might not look like much today compared to like modern graphics, but I still find that it's really charming and the story and mechanics just keep me coming back year after year. This is probably my fifth time playing the game. I'm level 26, I think. I'm pushing 100 hours now. What makes it cool is that it plays up to eight players co-op online. So that's pretty neat. You can get seven of your buds to all go to Mars and shoot a bunch of aliens. I like that. I don't know quite what I think just yet. But it's sorta like a train wreck, in that I can't look away right Now. I love The Witcher. I'm probably going to be playing The Witcher all summer. So if we talk next week again, it's probably going to be The Witcher. [MUSIC] [NOISE] [MUSIC] Welcome back to the show. Once again Khail is not here, if you couldn't tell. He's down at Comic Con. So, Brian Bishop here. The Film Vault, Adam Corolla Show, best selling author, Shrinkage. All correct so far. All those things. Again, Go on. [LAUGH] Fancy man of out of town. That's right. [LAUGH] So, it's Thursday, which means we like to talk about the things that are making us crazy in all the best ways and so this is into it. Bryan Bishop regale us with what you are into this week. I will. So I am a podcaster. I do podcasts, and all I do is listen to podcasts. I've given up on the radio, I don't listen to So any of the apps, any of the music apps. I used to listen to podcasts all the time, because I like being talked to, and informed, and entertained, and all those things. Yeah, okay. And one of my favorite podcasts, which is not exactly cutting edge because it's been around for a while, it's very popular. But just in case your listeners aren't into podcasts, do yourself a favor, check out Stuff You Should Know, the Stuff You Should Know podcast. I love that podcast. I was there all the time. Josh and Chuck are fantastic. They're good guys. Had the opportunity to meet them when they came to L.A. and did some live shows. Oh, yeah, I remember that. Yeah, and they are, the show is great. Super fascinating stuff. Super fascinating. Not a lot of production, you're not gonna be wowed with whooshes and all that stuff on the radio. The stingers and the whooshes and all that stuff. Which for me is great, because you actually get information. Right. And the guys actually talk to you. And they talk to each other and they have this great chemistry. This great chemistry that's not forced it's very easy and you're going to be, like I said, entertained, you're gonna learn some stuff, you're gonna be informed, and you're gonna be in conversation with a friend and they're gonna be like "Oh what's the deal with blah, blah, blah". And like, "Actually, I know that. I can tell you what the deal is with that cuz I heard them talk for 45 minutes about it". Which is really cool. And I always like how And then they always do a special Halloween episode, which is always entertaining. But for me- And timely stuff, too. They'll often talk about something in the news. Really timely. I just was gonna say. The one thing I really like about them is that if they see something in the news or something that is maybe a little confusing for people, to say, okay, let's do an episode on this. They're like. So, how does Comic Con work? Yeah, I'll do it. And then, they'll do the episode about the history of Comic Con, and what it is now, and why people go there, and why studios go there, and why people might not go there, and it's great. They are so great. They did one on BitCoin semi-recently. Right. Because a lot of people are like, how exactly does this work, and they explained where it came from, how it works. What the risks are, what the benefits are, it's a really interesting, really interesting show, really well done. I recommend it for a listen. And it's not a terrible time commitment either. They're like half an hour. Yeah they're forty minuteish give or take. Yeah much less than an hour. It's like around thirty to forty minutes. And there's hundreds of episodes so. If you get into it, you're going to learn a lot. So also, I will recommend that as well. Because I do love it. That's on my podcast list under pocketcast. So I am into this week, I feel a little bit. Psychic and a little bit validated because I predicted during our Comic Con preview episode that they would announce an app for Star Wars. Okay. And sure enough, that's exactly what happened. And I downloaded it and it's great. It's even better than I could've imagined. So this app has, literally everything you ever need if you're a Star Wars fan. Okay. This is a massive hub. It's not only Fun facts about Star Wars- Bios on characters. Breaking news, yeah, like kinda the Holocronish sorta thing they have going on on the website. They have augmented reality stuff, you're able to do like, these cool augmented reality things. They have a Force Awakens countdown, so they have this day in Star Wars history. They have a weather hub, so you can say like oh, it's 75 degrees. That's like the weather on Endor. It'll tell you what weather that's like. So here it would be like oh, it's 105 degrees, that's like Tatooine. Do they have dark days in Star Wars history, like the day you realized Episode One sucked? Oh, that was the day you saw it, right? Yeah, pretty much walking out of the theater. Pretty much anybody, the day you saw it walking out of the theater [CROSSTALK] Can we recreate that crestfallen sensation? I don't ever wanna know what it feels like again. But they have gifts, they've got a soundboard in there. They have videos, they have a selfie section where you take a selfie and there's Yoda behind you. It. That thing must cost like ten dollars. It's free. What? It's totally free. And literally when I say it's jammed packed, it's overflowing. Imagine a dagwood sandwich. You guys don't know what a dagwood sandwich is, you're literally like 50 years too young to know what a Dagwood is, but a giant sandwich that's overflowing with stuff, and you take a bite of it and stuff falls out, that is literally the Star Wars app. You take a bite of it, and it's an explosion of stuff just everywhere. Messy and delicious. Messy and delicious, 100%. It's totally free. It's really cool. It's designed really well. I'm really impressed with it. Okay, I'll check it out. If you're a Star Wars Star Wars being a person. And you release an app, you're up to a high standard because you're Star Wars! It's gotta be good. You're the crown jewel in the movie geekdom and you gotta be pretty awesome with your app. I think the thing I like is it doesn't feel forced. It's not like, hey guys, look at how cool we are. Forced? Forced? Like, yeah, forced. [CROSSTALK] Do you see what I did there? It's not like, hey guys we're so cool. Yeah. We're trying to be young. No. It's just like, look guys, it's Star Wars. Take it or leave it. This is pretty great stuff. There you go. Okay. Have at it. And if there's something for everybody in there. Okay. So I, I really enjoy it and that's what I'm into right now. Download that right now. I'm still exploring the app, like, there's so much stuff in there. Lot of ground to cover. Yeah. And they're gonna add a bunch of stuff, I guess, leading up to the fourth week [INAUDIBLE] and of course, like, going forward I'm sure they'll add more stuff. I'm imagine, yeah. So, so yeah. It's really, really great. So that's what I'm into. Now, speaking of Star Wars, we have to talk about your choices for the Young Han Solo movie that is going to be coming out. So let's hit user feedback. [MUSIC] Okay. So, I'm gonna ask you first, because you weren't here. Okay. Who is your choice for young Han Solo? Young Han- What age range are we talking about? I think twenty to twenty-five could play twenty to twenty-five. It does not have to be that age. Good. Yeah. I feel like the obvious answer is Chris Pratt. Only because he does every role these days. But everybody says that and he is the same age that Harrison Ford was when he- Play Han Solo. I don't want Chris Pratt. Yeah, we excluded him from the thing. Good. No Chris Pratt. Okay. A little old, but he's okay because he can pull it off with the acting chops. He's legitimately a great actor who people aren't quite on to yet as a great actor, just a very good actor, Joseph Gordon-Levy. That would be my choice to play a young. JJL you know what. Has that been brought up before? You know what our friend Penn, who's a friend of the show, writes in he actually suggested JJL as well. He's a great actor. Very charming. He will be an oscar winner at some point in his life. Absolutely. He's fantastic. He played a young Bruce Willis in Looper and was fantastic. And was so good. Yeah he's got the shots. He can do it. That's a good choice. And he has a young face. I feel like he could totally pull that off. That's a good choice. Now we have some of our viewers. Walter, wrote in and said, who can play Han Solo? The actor can't be too young. Thomas Dekker comes to mind. Okay. I have not heard of that person. I don't know who Thomas Dekker is. Is that a joke? I don't know. Get out of our face with Thomas Dekker. Gosh Walter. And then Dustin wrote in and said. This is only one correct person to fill the role of the anonymous Han Solo, and that of course is Khail Anonymous. Very youthful looking. Khail, oh yeah. He is. He could play a young Han Solo. And then Frank wrote in and said, a young CGI Harrison Ford, because Harrison Ford is Han Solo. #irreplaceable! I feel like that's what George Lucas would have done. And he would have gone with the CGI- I think you're right. Completely digital- You're right. Jar Jar Solo. [LAUGH] Or like that young Jeff Bridges in Tron. Yeah, creepy. It would have been like that. Smooth. It would have been a little bit weird. Too smooth, too smooth. Or a young Al Pacino and- Young Al Pacino. Danny Collins, yeah. Young Michael Douglas in Ant Man? Did we ask? [CROSSTALK] Oh really? Okay. Yeah, yeah. Young Michael Douglas. Yeah, the young versions are creeping me out. Neal wrote in and said Anthony Ingruber played young Harrison Ford in Age of Adaline. Here's his Ford impression. And he sent us his YouTube video, so check this out. There's that man. He does in fact look like a young Harrison Ford. Yeah, he does actually, that's good that he's got that going for him. And he already played a young Harrison Ford, so I'm gonna tell you right now, that guy and his agent are anxiously waiting by their phones. Yeah, did you get our emails? And phone calls and texts? Yeah, I called you, look at the phone, call me. By the way, this is still the thing for the phone. The kids even know what this even means anymore? It's really this, it's like this? Like this right? Like this? Hello, hello? Hello, hello? Did you get our texts? Oh, I hate when people do that. Put on speaker, and then just like fling there [UNKNOWN] Do kids even know what hanging up means anymore? Does that mean anything? Yeah, the red button. But we don't hang up anymore, we press the button. Yeah, I know We disconnect the call. I'm blowing all your minds right now. I'm disconnecting on you. [LAUGH] And then Mitchell wrote in and said, Solo should be played by Matt Lanter. He voices Darth Vader in Clone Wars. Chewy can be played by Zach Galifianakis. [LAUGH] Inspired second choice. I like that, like that. It's really good. Merill wrote in and said Dylan O'Brien and sent in this picture. He's a handsome devil. He's a young, handsome guy. And then Jimmy e-mailed us and said Alex Pettyfer of Endless Love, I thought that was a good choice too. It's a good choice for Han Solo, maybe better than Harrison Ford, great screen presence and at 5'11 and 25 years old I think he would do a great job. I don't think he's well known yet and would be very believable as Han Solo. Now Alex Pettyfer is in He plays Four in Divergent. Okay. And he is an attractive young man. Sure. I think I probably can pull up a picture of him, Alex Pettyfer. I'm gonna use my My power, yeah, here we go. The powers of the devices. Here's my device powers. That's a handsome devil. You know what.. He certainly is. Too handsome. Too handsome. Let's take a look. He might be too handsome for the job you guys. You know why because Hans Solo. Let's take a look. Is this gonna work? Is this guy gonna work right here? [INAUDIBLE] [both talking making noise together] [INAUDIBLE] Logan has already got it going. [INAUDIBLE] Logan. You know what, no, sorry you know the problem? Maybe too attractive Hans Solo with a scruffy looking Nerf herder. That's true. And that man, he may have scruff, but he's a handsome chiseled devil. Scruffy looking Stud Muffin He's a handsome civil devil. You can't do that. Yeah, you can't, no. Maybe too attractive. Sorry, you're too good looking. I heard that all the time, you're too good looking for that. You can't do it. I know, you hear it all the time. It's like, I never hear it. But I hear other people get it told to them. Yeah, it's rough, trust me. They told to Kale. Kale too all the time, it's pretty ridiculous. Kale knows. It's pretty rough. I can barely look Kale in the eyes sometimes like he's just. Before he pierces right through to your soul. Yeah it's too much. Like he's so. Like people can't look at him when he walks around at the grove, they have to look away. Hope he's dressed up at Comicon. On that. So they're not getting the full effect. No, no. He's gotta wear a full face mask. Who's your choice for the young Han Solo? I liked Garrett Hedlund. That was my choice. Who is fantastic, and I found this picture yesterday as I was posting about it. I was just like, you guys, he is perfect. Let's talk about this photo. You're doing your daily Garrett Hedlund search? Let's just discuss this picture right here, because, like, This guy is Han Solo. He literally is Han Solo, that's him. He looks like a scruffy looking nerf herder. He could do it. And he's really charming, he's cool, I'd say he was great in Friday Night Lights, he's fantastic. In Tron, he was in Tron, and now they're not doing Tron 3, so his schedule's open. They're not doing Tron 3? No, no, no. They're cancelling that for Tomorrowland. So yeah, that was your user feedback. Really great stuff, you guys. And then of course we have our very [INAUDIBLE] feedback which is always our phonetographer of the day. [MUSIC] All right so, our friend Carson wrote in. Carson It's an interesting name I've never heard before. It's Carston. It's a mix of Carson and Carston. Yeah. And he wrote in and said, hello, my name is Carsten, here's some photos I took on my iPhone 5C at the Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona during my hunt. Love the show. Keep up the good work. First of all, these cannot be photos taken on an iPhone. These have to be postcards. Solid shot. They look Amazing. Okay, let's take a look at the first one and a full-screen. Yeah. Christopher's already got it. He's on it. Amazing, ridiculous, I mean the Grand Canyon this is the most photogenic, one of the most photogenic places in the world I would say. You got to look at the cloud formations, too it's lovely. Yeah. It's so good, the sky's so blue everything looks amazing and that's on an iPhone 5C, so that's an older When. Okay. So you're using an iPhone, I think it's a 4S or a 5 lens. Okay. It's a 5 lens. A couple of generations old. The iPhone 5 lens. Yeah, so it's a couple generations old. That looks ridiculously good, and then of course this beautiful sort of landscape with the trees, and they're all different colors. Yeah. It's so good, so good Carson. Good job. High five, you've got a bright future in phonetography ahead of you. What's going on with kid's names these days? What's Carston? You know, people want unique names. People want to name their kids things that are unique. They don't want- see, the thing is, I kind of get it. I'm sure you did too, because I was one of what, six Ashleys in school. Right. And everyone started spelling their Ashley names different. Right. So I had, there was, like, I was the only. [INAUDIBLE] Ashley [CROSSTALK] I was the only normal Ashley. Right. A-S-H-L-E-Y. There was, like, an A-S-H-L-E-I-G-H, an A-S-H-L-E-E, an A-S-H-E-L-Y, and there was, I mean it was literally, like, a hundred different ways to spell Ashley, and I was the only one with the right way. It just struck me that my name is Bryan with a Y, so. Yeah. I'll, I'll shut up. So I'll stop. So pie hole. I'll show myself out. Pie hole closed. Okay. So if you guys want to send in your phonetographies and email us tomorrow at cnet.com, you can always send in story ideas. If you want to find us on social media we're Tomorrow Daily, mostly on Twitter. But you can hit us up on our personal Twitter accounts as well if you want to hang out with us on line. Fantastic, and you can find me @AshleyEsqueda on Twitter and pretty much everywhere on the Internet. That is it for today's show, we'll be back on Monday. Khail is coming back on Monday, do not worry, do not panic, Find the nearest exit and depart in a calm manner. Do not trample each other, okay? We'll be back on Monday. But until then we will see you guys next time. Be a good human. Bye. TD; Today Daily.
