Western Digital's first hybrid solid-state hard drive
Tech Industry
Hi.
I'm Dong Ngo, at CES 2013 and I'm here with WD.
If you're fan of internal storage, you are in a candy store here because if you will call me into the drive I've had here.
And they are all new.
But the one I love the most is this baby right here, a brand-new WBlack solid state hybrid drive, the very first hybrid drive of WD.
Now the reason
I like this one because it's a standard drive, 2.5-inch standard for laptop but it come with up to 24GB of solid state.
Plus one terra byte of regular hard drive.
That means you have up to 1TB of storage plus very fast SSD like speed.
It support SATA 3 but it could also work with SATA 2 or SATA 1. Unfortunately, I don't know the price of this one yet, even be announced the time-- it became
available which is some time this year.
But my guess is will not be too much more than a regular hard drive of the same capacity.
Now, I'm very excited about this drive but I don't know how it actually performs yet.
For that we have to check for the full review when the drive becomes available, hopefully soon.
Once again, my name is Dong Ngo, and this has been a very brief look at the brand new the first hybrid drive of WD, the WBlack solid state hybrid drive.
