Verizon and Netflix are being spoken in the same sentence again.
This time, not as competitors but rather as a possible buy out.
Netflix is stuck rallied on Monday as rumors circulated that the mobile company was interested in purchasing the video subscription service.
Last we week we reported that Verizon was interested in staking it's claim in the entertainment space, perhaps partnering with (Red Box?) or building out it's own service.
Analysts and investors seem to support the ideas since Netflix's stock has been down 75% since July.
Largely due to price increases and communication (snaffus?) from CEO (Reed Hastings?).
As a thank you to the Google Plus community, Google execs have decided to roll out new features on a daily basis for the rest of the year.
One of them called face recognition has already gotten a lot of buzz.
The service is similar to what Facebook offers as far as identifying people on your photos so you can tag them.
The difference between the 2 services however is that Google allows you to opt in versus Facebook's assumption that you'd want to use it.
Small privacy detail, but shows that Google plus has learned from Facebook's mistakes.
Another Google news, Cnet has learned that company has yanked nearly 2 dozen illegal apps from the Android market place.
This copy cat apps were trying to disguise themselves as the real thing.
But when users downloaded them, they charge premium SMS rates.
The 22 apps are most likely the work of (RU Fraud?) or Russian made malware and affected mainly European users.
Pop quiz, what has reached a billion dollars is sales in just 16 days?
Not a new Tom Cruise movie or a Lady Gaga album, rather, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. That's right, a video game has become one of the biggest entertainment launches in history.
And it also set records on the month of November with 9 million copies sold.
Over all video game sales in that month worth no better that November the last year, but even flat growth is welcome to over the decline that many retail (structors?) are experiencing.
And finally, if you're a fan of Angry birds, and really, who isn't?
Then you may wanna pack your bags and head to Finland.
The finish maker of the game, Rovio is now in plans to build a playground equipment based on the game.
Picture towers, slides, walls and even sling shots.
Rovio's chief marketing officer said quote, the play grounds fit perfectly in to the Angry birds world and our way of thinking.
And since 125 million of us has since downloaded that game.
It probably fits in to our way of thinking too.
